there were a lot of “good”s in that denial. kit didn’t bother with the correction that they’d fallen asleep on each other, after staying up all night playing video games and talking… and now nate was sitting here watching him do yoga and complimenting his looks…

but nate wasn’t gay and he wasn’t interested in kit. he was probably just overcompensating for being slightly homophobic when they first met. and kit had to be careful that he didn’t project what he wanted nate to feel on the situation…

he’d been down this road before and it had ended in catastrophe. kit figured that every gay man fell in love with a straight guy at least once in their lives. but for him once had been enough. the last thing he needed was to convince himself that there was something there between him and nate… because there wasn’t. and it wasn’t going to happen.

maybe he’d just have to keep reminding himself of that.
