nate shrugged, so kit couldn’t stop himself from prodding. “how is that possible, dude? how old are you?” 

nate laughed and it sounded slightly uncomfortable. “twenty-four… but yeah, i never did the girlfriend thing. just hook-ups and a few dates.” he shrugged again. “dunno. i never met anyone i wanted to be serious with, i guess.” 

“wow.” it didn’t mean anything. “so you’ve never had a girlfriend…” it didn’t mean anything. kit couldn’t let his mind go there; he wouldn’t.
