Chapter Eight
dani mocked him. she did this stupid, whiny voice thing that nate immediately hated.
shayla shrugged unapologetically at nate’s offended expression.
nate didn’t care what they thought — he knew kit. he knew kit better than they did. and when kit had offered for nate to come along to lunch and meet his friends, he had obviously not really meant it.
nate wasn’t imagining the fact that kit had taken to avoiding him since the whole drunken night on the couch thing. nate just didn’t know why. kit was spending more time with his other friends, he wasn’t as affectionate anymore, there was barely any of that playful flirting from before between them, and nate was always in bed before kit and (suspiciously) up after him…
so, yeah, nate was feeling like the neglected girlfriend in all this. and not just any neglected girlfriend, either.
