the way he trailed off made kit sad. a little bit. kit always seemed to feel sad lately whenever there was some kind of allusion to nate’s relationship experience — or rather his lack of relationship experience. which made no sense, really, because it wasn’t like kit wanted nate to have all these ex-girlfriends that kit could never even hope to compete with. but something about the fact that there were none (not one at all) was just so… 

lonely.

more than anything else, kit wanted nate to be happy; lonely wasn’t happy.
